Where Do All the Old Stories Go?

September 28, 2008

Don’t you just love to read new posts on the website? Everyone agrees – updated, fresh content is the best, and websites like ours are constantly changing, with news, notices and interesting stories posted every week. But if you haven’t visited TeamRKS.com before now, or have been away on vacation for a month, don’t worry that you might have missed something important…because it is still here!

We are keeping all of our past content accessible to you on our website. Here are three easy ways to review old stories, or posts, as they are called in the “blogosphere”:

  • At the top of each page on TeamRKS.com is what is called a header, and in the header below the Robinson’s logo are two navigation bars. In the “black belt,” you’ll find links to Master’s Corner, RKS Kids!, School News, etc….Click on one of those, and you’ll be taken to a page that lists all the posts in that category, in chronological order, newest first, oldest last.

  • Over in the right sidebar, you can find the same category shortcuts under Departments.

  • If you prefer to look at posts in ALL the categories, but only during a certain month, in the right sidebar under Archives, click on a link for any of the months you find listed.

Not quite as easy is the Site Map for TeamRKS, which lists all the pages, all the posts, for all time! But you will find older posts from months long ago. You’ll find the link for the Site Map at the bottom right hand corner in the footer.

Don’t forget one more easy way to find content on TeamRKS.com – the search box at the upper right. Type in the word or phrase you want to locate, and click the blue “Go” button. Try it!

Site Tech – Images and Links

August 8, 2008

Transformers Movie Night in TorontoThroughout the TeamRKS website, we see images such as the cool flyer for Transformers. Pretty small, you say? Cannot read the fine print?

Here’s a tip…..whenever you move your mouse over a link, your cursor, usually in the shape of an arrow, turns to a hand, signifying the presence of a link. With text links, the text itself is of a different color (red text on the TeamRKS website is usually a link…). Similarly, when you move your mouse and cursor over an image or photo, if you get the telltale hand, you know that there is a link there as well. Click on the Transformers image and see what happens!

Some links, both text and image, help you navigate to other areas of the TeamRKS website. Many of the images on our site will link to and display larger versions of the same images. In special cases, where there are multiple photos arranged in a mosaic, clicking on one will bring up a slideshow of all. The TeamRKS Photo Album is one example of this.

When in need, go ahead and click! Remember, when you see a link, there may be useful information just one click away!

Question: What is “TeamRKS.com”?

April 11, 2008

Answer: It’s your school’s new website!

After careful thought, numerous strategy meetings, and many long hours of preparation, it’s finally here…..TeamRKS.com is here!

Master Robinson and his staff had a vision: to develop an online “dojo” for the school that combined the best “bricks and mortar” qualities of Robinson’s Karate Schools and Lewis Karate School with the best building blocks of a strong online presence. We think we have met his expectations with a great foundation to build our online school.
