Attack from Side Control: Parallel Choke
May 4, 2009
Again this month on TeamRKS.com, we are featuring a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu technique excerpted from the great book, Gracie Submission Essentials, which can be purchased in our Pro Shop. Buy one this week to help you review between classes!
From the book: “The parallel choke from the knee on the stomach position is a very powerful choke that will surprise many an opponent. Normally the choking hand comes in grabbing the opposite collar in a crossing pattern. In this case, the first hand does not change position from the normal control (behind the neck) so it doesn’t alert the opponent to the impending submission.”
If you click on the image to the left, you will be able to view both page one and page two that cover this technique (remember to look for the page forward or back arrows that appear halfway up each side of the page).
