RKS Students On the Run!
October 20, 2009
Congratulations to RKS students Mike Kitching (Newmarket) and Katrina Drudge (Bolton) on their recent half-marathon run! We are proud to have Mike and Katrina as students in our schools.
Mike Kitching
Six months ago I had the idea to do my first half marathon in the Scotiabank Run Toronto. I have always liked running and started again recently with the hope of getting in better shape. I trained for five months three times a week while still attending regular karate classes. Thanks to my fitness training at Robinson’s it made my focus on reaching my goal much easier. I would like to thank my family, staff, and the friends that I met at karate for all of the support and encouragement. My goal was to finish the run in under the 2 hour mark and I was happy to do it in 1:53 minutes. I had a great time doing the run and smiled most of the way. It was a great experience and an amazing feeling to be among 20,000 runners that day. It was 21.1 km and I enjoyed every kilometre.
Michael Kitching
Katrina Drudge“What do you get when you cross a dream with drive, grit, and determination? You get Katrina Drudge running her first 21 K Marathon in 1:57.1…”
“Congrats Katrina on reaching your goals and running really really crazy far. That’s awesome!”
